SHOWROOM:

The temple of Sri Ramakrishna was established in 1985 in Lokasiksha Parishad. A small bookstall was set up by the side of the temple. Though the Stall was started in a very small way but soon was expanded to its present place with the inspiration and encouragement of large number of devotees. The stall initially started with the sales of publications on Thakur Maa and Swamiji of different branch centres of Ramakrishna Mission spread over different states of India. The publications included books, CDs etc. (in Bengali, English, Hindi and Sanskrit), Magazines including the one published by the Lokasiksha Parishad, other books, CDs and Photos of Thakur, Maa and Swami and other photos also. The showroom also displays products of different Self-Help Groups mainly run by the women members in rural areas of different districts of West Bengal. The products of such groups are mainly Gamchha (Cotton Towel), Ordinary and Ornamental Bari, Rice, Parched Rice (Muri), Bael Powder, Dried Amlaki, Trifala Powder, Kalmegh Bari, Neem Oil etc. The products are directly purchased from the self-help groups and help the members to become economically self-reliant and at the same time the quality goods are made available to the hundreds of devotees who throng sales counter every day. Presently such showrooms are run at the Mandir Gate of Lokasiksha Parishad, Narendrapur Main Gate of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur and the other at the heart of Purulia town. The above products are also made available from our showroom to different village level organizations and rural fair organizers for sale in their respective rural areas reaching the products to the large number of people in rural areas of West Bengal. To give wide publicity of the products of the self-help groups and different books on Thakur, Maa and Swamiji. We participate every year in the following fairs :Kolkata Book Fair

  • Annual Celebrations at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Premises

Through such fairs and melas we have been able to make very strong bond with the community both in urban and rural area
