Green Colleges India: The Sundarban Islands Programme :

 
Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad (RKMLSP) was running another Green College Programmes, funded by Wealthungerhilfe, New Delhi in the district of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. Among these, GOSABA GREEN COLLEGE started its journey in the year 2013 and it is being recognized as a potential and effective Vocational Training Institute in the Gosaba Block and it’s adjoining areas of South 24 Parganas. It had produced a good number of Rural Eco-prenuers by imparting time bound, cost effective; market oriented and need based trainings on Natural Resource Management (NRM) based trades.
 
The present project Green Colleges India:
The Sundarban Islands Programme’ sponsored by WHH, New Delhi is to be implemented on and from 1″ November 21 for a period of 36 months (till 31 October 2024) at the Gosaba and its adjacent blocks of the South 24 Parganas district. The mandate of the programme was to train a total of 750 rural school dropout youths (15-25 age group) on certified green trades (solar repairing and maintenance, computer hardware repairing and maintenance, animal health worker and agriculture & allied course) following the Skill up! Quality Standards.
The programme had started in the month of November 2021 and till november 2023, 29 nos vocational courses had been completed. 561 youths had been trained .

  • Goat keeping
  • Computer hardware & Networking and basic skill
  • Mobile repairing & Solar system servicing 
  • Food processing and Preservation
  • Composite fish farming
