Objective:
Swamiji is the ultimate role model for the youth. He had strong conviction that youth force only could bring the independence of our mother land and can bring out the much needed reformation of new India. His clarion call to the youth of all generations was to have nerves of steel, strong character and sharp mind. He proclaimed “ My countrymen should have nerves of steel, muscles of iron and minds like thunderbolt.“ To realize his vision, many rural youth centres have been formed under the banner of Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad and they are encouraged to organize various activities under the program Chalaman Bahini. The primary aim is to bring young children within the age group of 6 to 14 years under it’s ambit and to promote building of healthy body, impart moral education to develop strong character and manifest the perfection and the divinity already in them, create leadership abilities which will help them to become self reliant and take part in building a great nation.
Activities:
- Training Workshops spanning over ten days between January and March every year are organized for the youths associated with the centres in the age group of 16 to 35 years who undertakes leadership roles in Chalaman Bahini activities.
- These trained youths conduct following exercises with the children and budding youths of their individual centres :
- At the end of these exercises, a convention is organised every year with participating children of all centres and various sports and competitions are arranged and prizes are distributed. People of all walks of life take part in this event to encourage the children.
- Training guides are published each year to help the team leaders to carry out all activities.
