Lokeswarananda established Lokasiksha Parishad for the
overall development of the rural areas. To make aware
the rural people about the activities of the Parishad,
it was decided to bring out a magazine named 'Lokasiksha Samachar'. The first issue was brought out in April
1957. The articles were mainly on the activities of
different centres relating to mass education, different
projects on education and multifarious information.
Initially the magazine was confined to 20 (twenty) pages
only. The cyclostyled magazine was distributed free of
cost for the first two years. From June, 1959, the
magazine was renamed as Samajsiksha and from that issue
